±12 Ripable modules anyone?
±13-------------------------------------
±12by Lembas of Spetsnaz
±11I have now spent 2 years of my life
with my belowed Amiga. As a
non-influent user at the scene, I've
observed the evoulution in the
history of the Amiga. I have
especially been interested in music
which is made on the Amiga. This has
given me a strong passion for
collecting modules. But in the
process of acquiering about 500
different modules I was forced to RIP
the modules since I have VERY limited
access to Internet and other BBS's.
Now I shall present my main consern:
It takes a lot of time to rip all the
tunes from the various new demos
which I get. Why must I live through
the seemingly endless scanning of
MultiRipper or the hopeless work of
the ActionReplay hunter.
Amiga is a multitasking machine with
the most desirable OS in the world.
There are people who runs a
moduleplayer in WB while doing other
things. Such people enjoy listening
to "musical music" (i.e NOT
2Unlimited (no offence, please,
techno-freaks) because of the
orginality and quality of the tunes.
So why isn't it easier to get
(±12read:RIP±11) the astonishing music
which is featured in the best demos?
Is the coders so protective about
their new-released stuff that they
make the modules unrippable? Anyway,
I am not a coder and will not
approach the subject from a coders
point of view.
I don't know of anyone who loads a
track-disk musicdisk and listens to
it more than 5 minutes. If people
could put the songs on a DOS-disk,
life would have been more giving for
music lovers. The music will end up
on Internet within a couple of weeks
anyway.
I hope that modules won't be so
rediciously protected by composers
and coders, because excellent music
(it's art!) should be shared and work
as a inspirational kick for aspiring
mucisians. Only the±13 best±11 composers
use their own samples (from their
synths) and shall not bother with
others who rip their samples. This
is because only original music is
praised by people. The true
composers will always behold their
pride!
